April 4-5, 2023- The Provincial Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Office together with the Bureau Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Office conducted a site assessment of a proposed legislated hatchery site in San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.

The said site would become the first ever freshwater hatchery in the province of Surigao del Sur and soon would cater the seedling needs of the fisherfolks, at the same time, would also serve as a training site for basic learning. This would be a great help in the province's fishery industry.
