Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Climate Change Adaption Orientation

LOOK: The Office of the Provincial Assessor (PAssO) spearheaded by Ms. Sabina C. Noguera, in partnership with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), conducted a three-day activity entitled the “Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Climate Change Adaption Orientation” last April 28-30, 2023 at the Lodestone Beach Resort, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

There are many forms of imminent disasters that may strike us before we knew it. It could be natural or a man-made type of disaster. It is not enough to stave off the next disaster. We may not predict it but we can prepare for it. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety and losses that accompany disasters. Republic Act 10121 otherwise known as Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act 2010, intensifies for the preparedness of everybody in times of disaster either naturally or human-induced. As such, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Orientation for PAssO employees is deemed necessary to have a common understanding on DRRM concepts that will guide the employees for a variety of emergency situations, persevere during this stage and recover afterward.
