WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS ADVOCACY ACTIVITY AT TANDAG CITY
Standing United Against Human Trafficking!
Earlier today, the City Government of Tandag, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), led an anti-human trafficking awareness campaign at the Covered Court of Barangay Bongtud. This event was part of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons awareness campaign.
Miss Pia B. Curada, RSW, Social Welfare Officer II of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, gave an informative lecture on the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022 (RA 11862). She covered the different forms of trafficking, the rights of victims, and the responsibilities of government and communities in prevention and protection.
The event also included the Bulig Organization from the College of Law of the North Eastern Mindanao State University, Tandag City, which offered free legal aid services to the attendees. To add a friendly and fun touch, the Philippine National Police distributed free ice cream to participants, making the advocacy enjoyable and educational for the community.
Together, Tandag City reaffirms its commitment to protecting the most vulnerable and raising awareness about the urgent fight against human trafficking.
