Surigao del Sur Honored for Excellence in Anti-Trafficking and VAWC Efforts

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur proudly received recognition from the Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) Caraga for its high functional performance and unwavering commitment in combating human trafficking and VAWC.

The award was presented during the regional convergence activity in Butuan City, culminating the month-long observance against gender-based violence and human trafficking. Representing Governor Johnny Pimentel, Provincial Chief Administrator John Vincent Pimentel dedicated the award to “every child, every woman, and every Surigaonon protected,” reaffirming the province’s steadfast advocacy for peacebuilding and protection of vulnerable sectors.

The event also featured a ceremonial signing of the Expression of Commitment Wall, cultural performances, and the One Billion Rising Dance, symbolizing unity in ending all forms of exploitation and abuse.
