"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."- Mahatma Gandhi
August 24, 2022 - A 3-year-old, weighing 16kg, Aspin dog named Butchoy was brought to the Provincial Veterinary Office due to the swelling and bleeding of its left ear. The owner, Ms. Linda Tubal, a government employee, shared that her dog was her good companion especially every time she goes to church. Upon examination done by Dr. Diosdado D. Derigay, Jr. of PVET, Butchoy had Aural Hematoma - a condition wherein a mass of blood acccumulates within a dog's ear flap. Dr. Derigay performed an immediate surgery to Butchoy and was able to drain the blood and pus from its ear. The surgery was a successful one and Butchoy was able to go home with home medication, particularly antibiotics and pain reliever.
