A significant gathering dealing with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) was held on September 4, 2025, by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur.

The activity, held at the SCI-Multipurpose Building in Tandag City, brought together 32 attendees from various People's Organizations (POs) and cooperatives. The event also included representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Biodiversity Bureau of the Caraga Region, the Provincial Tourism Office, and the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO-LGU).

The primary focus of the gathering was the Presentation of CSO Project Proposals and a Commitment-Setting  to foster collaboration and development within the province

The Provincial Administrator Sir John Vincent C. Pimentel, delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the Governor's profound commitment to improving the economic well-being of Civil Society Organizations across Surigao del Sur. He outlined a strategic path forward through participatory governance and strong collaboration with diverse government agencies. The Administrator powerfully underscored that their approach would be bottom-up, not top-down, ensuring the government is a true partner to its people.

The way forward for this initiative is to organize a Technical Working Group (TWG). This group will assist and monitor Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) engaged in livelihood projects, ensuring transparency, accountability, and participation are tangible for both the government and the CSOs.
