Earlier today, DA-RFO CARAGA led by Engr. Jean Tado, together with the Staff from the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), paid a courtesy call to the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) thru Officer-in-Charge, Ma’am Carmela S. Tripole, RAgr.

The visit marked the start of the Inventory of Agricultural Machinery and Infrastructure to be conducted by the Department of Agriculture through BAFE, in cooperation with the DA-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) Caraga and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Surigao del Sur has been identified as one of the pilot areas for this initiative, which aims to establish a comprehensive and updated database of agricultural machinery and infrastructure. The data will serve as a foundation for planning, policy development, and program implementation aimed at strengthening agricultural and fisheries mechanization in the province and the region.

The scope of the inventory covers not only machinery and infrastructure intended for cacao and coffee production but also extends to all agricultural machinery located in the identified municipalities and cities. This includes equipment and facilities distributed under the various programs of the Department of Agriculture as well as those provided by other partner government agencies.
