The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), successfully distributed cash assistance to five beneficiaries.

Four (4) recipients received ₱20,000 each under the Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay (BPBH) Program, while one (1) received support under the Welfare Assistance Program with the amount of ₱5,000.

This initiative is intended to support Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), particularly those from Surigao del Sur, who have experienced abuse or distress during their employment abroad. It seeks to help them rebuild their lives and regain sustainable livelihoods upon their return home.
