The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), successfully conducted a Ready-to-Lay (RTL) Production Training for local farmers last October 16, 2025, at the Municipal Agricultural Production Center, Purok Buenavista, Barangay Tubo-Tubo, Cagwait. The training, aimed at promoting sustainable poultry farming and strengthening local livelihood, was facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office of Cagwait under the leadership of Mr. Neptalie D. Palero, Registered Agriculturist. Serving as resource speakers during the activity were Ms. Kristine L. Espineli, Registered Agriculturist II, and Mr. Joey S. Delos Ama, Agricultural Technologist, both from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

The one-day session covered key areas essential to efficient and profitable poultry production, including Poultry Production Management, Nutrition and Feeding, and other best practices for maintaining flock health and productivity. The training also emphasized the importance of proper management techniques to ensure high egg production and the sustainability of Ready-to-Lay operations.

Through this initiative, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist continues to empower local farmers with the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to enhance income opportunities and ensure food security within their communities.
