Provincial Accountant’s Office Participates in COA Seminar on One-Time Cleansing of PPE Account Balances
The Provincial Accountant’s Office participated in the one-day seminar on One-Time Cleansing of Property, Plant, and Equipment (PPE) Account Balances conducted by the Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office No. XIII through its Regional Training Unit on October 29, 2025, at the Function Hall, COA Regional Office No. XIII, South Montilla Boulevard, Butuan City.
The seminar was attended by participants from various national and local government agencies within the region. It aimed to enhance the understanding of government accountants and property officers on the guidelines and procedures governing the accounting, reconciliation, and derecognition of PPE account balances in accordance with COA regulations.
Discussions covered the General Guidelines on PPE (including the functions of the Inventory Committee, Property Number, and Physical Inventory Plan), Procedural Guidelines (such as Preliminary Activities, Inventory-Taking, and Reconciliation), and Disposition Procedures for Non-existing/Missing PPEs. The seminar also addressed Procedures in the Derecognition of Non-existing/Missing PPEs without Record of Accountability and Accounting Entries, supplemented with illustrative examples and notes to the financial statements.
The activity underscores COA’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and accuracy in government financial management and reporting.
