The Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council (PAFC) convened a sectoral meeting last November 28, 2025 at the OPAg Training Hall in Tandag City to tackle key issues in the High Value Crops (HVC) sector.

Concerns raised include limited access to quality seeds, inadequate post-harvest facilities, unstable market prices, and the need for stronger support services. Policy gaps and the aging farmer population were also noted as major challenges. The meeting focused on practical solutions to boost production, improve post-harvest handling, strengthen market access, and encourage youth involvement in the sector.

Present during the activity were Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Esmeraldo S. Raymundo, City/Municipal HVCDP Focal Persons, DA-CARAGA HVCDP representatives, and stakeholders.
