HIANTUAN, Surigao del Sur —  The Provincial Tourism Office proudly participated in the opening program of Pabaslaw sa Hinatuan 2026: 1st Mayor Tito A. Cañedo III Surfing Competition, held at Sitio Tabunan, Barangay Harip, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

This landmark event marks the first-ever surfing competition in Hinatuan, drawing skilled surfers from across Surigao del Sur, with notable participation from Siargao (Surigao del Norte), Cagayan de Oro City, and Samar. The competition showcases the region’s growing surfing culture and highlights Hinatuan as an emerging destination for water sports enthusiasts.

The event runs until February 28, 2026, culminating in the Awarding Ceremony, where top surfers will be recognized for their exceptional performances on the waves.

More than just a sporting competition, Pabaslaw sa Hinatuan 2026 celebrates passion, camaraderie, and the vibrant surf culture thriving in Surigao del Sur, solidifying the province’s reputation as a hub for tourism and adventure sports.
