The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), successfully conducted the Ceremonial Turn-over of Agricultural Machinery on March 17, 2026 at the OPAg Training Hall, Tandag City.

The activity was graced by Provincial Governor Hon. Johnny T. Pimentel and Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Esmeraldo S. Raymundo, together with City and Municipal Agriculturists, chairpersons/presidents and representatives of farmers’ associations, machine operators, and OPAg staff.

A total of 11 units of agricultural machinery, consisting of 8 units of Floating Tillers (Mudboat Type) and 3 units of Centrifugal Water Pumps with complete tools and accessories, amounting to ₱1,494,500.00, were officially turned over to farmer-beneficiaries across the province, fully funded under the local government’s initiative.

This locally funded program highlights the province’s strong commitment to strengthening agricultural productivity and improving efficiency in farming operations. By providing pre- and post-harvest mechanization support, the initiative aims to enhance land preparation, improve irrigation access, reduce labor costs, and increase overall crop yields.
