The Career Development Support Program (CDSP) is one of the key programs of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), designed at guiding students in making informed decisions about their future careers. Through this intervention, students were provided with information on career pathways, employment opportunities, higher education, and technical-vocational training, helping them align their interests and skills with labor market demands. By introducing career awareness at an early stage, the program strengthened students’ preparedness for life after graduation and supported their transition from school to work or further studies.

Following the institutionalization of PESO in the Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, the CDSP was implemented for the first time, marking an important milestone in expanding PESO services to include proactive career guidance for the youth. The pilot implementation was conducted at Gamut National High School in Gamut, Tago, Surigao del Sur on March 4, 2026, with Grade 10 and Grade 12 students as participants, making the school the pioneering institution for this program.

This activity was made possible through the collaboration of Gamut National High School headed by Ms. Basilisa M. Raz, MT III / School Head, together with the Grade 10 and Grade 12 faculty and staff. The activity was further enriched by the presence of distinguished speakers, Engr. Rey P. Dumalaba, Labor and Employment Officer III from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), who discussed career guidance and employment-related information for students, and Ms. Mary C. Cruda, TESD Specialist II from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), who presented the various technical-vocational programs and opportunities offered by their office.

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur, through Gov. Johnny T. Pimentel, and the Public Employment Service Office headed by Ms. Ana Victoria G. Millan, remains committed to continuing and expanding this activity to more schools across the province to further support students in their career development and future employment opportunities.
