2nd Women's Summit 2026
A powerful gathering, a shared purpose, and a celebration of women’s leadership—these defined the success of the 2nd Women’s Summit 2026 held on March 18 at the Bislig City Convention Hall. Warmest congratulations to SP Member Margarita G. Garay, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, and Family, whose leadership and dedication brought this meaningful event to life. With the inspiring theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Surigaonons!”, the summit honored not only the strength of women today but also the legacy of empowered female leaders rooted in culture and history. The presence of Mayor Roxanne Pimentel added both heart and energy to the occasion. Her genuine compassion for women’s struggles and triumphs was evident—not only in her words, but in her actions, as she joyfully connected with participants on stage, even dancing to “Hawak Ko ang Beat” and sharing spontaneous moments of generosity through prizes. It was a reminder that leadership can be both empathetic and uplifting. Equally moving was the message delivered by Hon. Melanie Joy Momo, President of the Liga ng mga Barangay Captains (SDS Chapter), delivered on behalf of Hon. Romeo S. Momo. Her words resonated deeply, capturing the shared experiences, resilience, and aspirations of women across communities. To all the resource speakers who generously shared their insights and expertise, your contributions enriched the summit and inspired every participant. Indeed, the 2nd Women’s Summit stands as a testament to unity, empowerment, and the enduring strength of Surigaonon women.
