Information Education Campaign
The LGU Carmen, under the leadership of Mayor Jane V. Plaza, thru the Office of the Municipal Agriculture of Carmen, Surigao del Sur, headed by Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Laury Lauron, conducted a four-day Intensive Livestock and Poultry Information Education Campaign last November 8 to 11, 2022.
Dr. Diosdado Derigay of the Provincial Veterinary Office was invited to serve as a Technical Resource Speaker to talk about Rabies, Surra, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) and African Swine Fever (ASF). A total of 295 livestock and poultry farmers from eight (8) barangays of Carmen attended the said affair and were enlightened about the mentioned diseases.
The 4-day information education campaign aims to help our livestock and poultry farmers with the proper approach should they encounter such diseases and also to promote awareness about the livestock and poultry situation within the province and in the Philippines as a whole.
