PHRMO CONDUCTS SPMS COACHING AT LIANGA DISTRICT HOSPITAL
In a bid to strengthen the implementation of the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS), the Provincial Human Resource Management Office (PHRMO) spearheaded a comprehensive coaching session at the Lianga District Hospital last January 24, 2025.
The activity aimed to enhance the hospital staff's understanding and application of SPMS, ensuring alignment with the provincial government’s goals of improved service delivery and personnel development. The activity was actively participated and headed by the newly installed Chief of Hospital, Dr. Glaiza Ann Tamondong.
The SPMS coaching session was attended by key hospital personnel, including department heads, administrative staff, and other employees. The training focused on the importance of aligning individual performance with organizational goals, the proper documentation of success indicators and accomplishments, and the significance of setting measurable and achievable targets.
In his opening remarks Mr. Ace R. Orcullo, the PHRM Officer cited, “The SPMS is not just a compliance mechanism; it is a tool to ensure that every employee contributes meaningfully to the hospital’s mission of delivering quality healthcare services to the community.”
Ms. Annabelle A. Lerog, Administrative Officer V, emphasized, through her talk on the History and Legal bases of the Establishment of SPMS in all Government Agency, the role of SPMS in fostering a culture of accountability and productivity among government employees. Ms. Mary Beth L. Barrios, on the other hand, explained and facilitated the session that included hands-on activities, open forums, and discussions to address challenges encountered in implementing SPMS at the hospital level.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that the coaching session clarified various aspects of SPMS and provided practical solutions to common issues. They also highlighted the importance of regular coaching sessions to maintain momentum and consistency in performance management.
The PHRMO plans to roll out similar coaching sessions to other district hospitals and provincial offices in the coming months, ensuring the seamless integration of SPMS across all units.
