CLIMATE DISASTER RISK ASSESSMENT (CDRA) COACHING AND MENTORING WORKSHOP

The Provincial Government of Surigao del Sur spearheaded the conduct of Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) in coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Office and the Provincial Planning and Development Office under the guidance of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development last October 11-12, 2023 at Shacene Pension House, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.

This is per DHSUD's recommendation to also revise the Risk Assessment of the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) of the Province of Surigao del Sur.

The Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA) is an assessment of potential impacts of hazards to people and their properties. CDRA goes beyond the conventional “risk assessment” as it incorporates climate-related hazards and their prospective impacts in the characteristics of hazards. It also facilitates the identification of priority decision areas, development challenges, implications and policy interventions with emphasis on risk reduction and climate change and adaptation options.
