Ka'liga is a lumad term which means gathering of tribes to give thanks and to appease the gods and goddesses for the bountiful harvests, good health and good tidings.
Ka’liga Tu Sur is the gathering and convergence of all Local Festivals of the 17 Municipalities and 2 component cities of the Province of Surigao del Sur. Depicting the rich heritage of each place through a montage of songs, rituals, dances and live music.
Ka’liga Tu Sur therefore is a showcase of different cultural expressions and indigenous heritage promoting one common objective with one vision for peoples’ peaceful co-exitence in Surigao del Sur and Mindanao as a whole. An affirmation of the rich culture of a progressive Surigao del Sur.
