Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur

Hinatuan is a second class coastal municipality in the province of Surigao del Sur with 24 Barangays. The municipality has a land area of 299.10 square kilometers or 115.48 square miles which constitutes 6.06% of Surigao del Sur's total area. Its population as determined by the 2020 Census was 43,841. This represented 6.83% of the total population of Surigao del Sur, or 1.56% of the population of the Caraga Region. Based on these figures, the population density is computed at 147 inhabitants per square kilometer or 380 inhabitants per square mile.
