Panuhugtuhug "a Traditional Beadworks Training" was first conducted at Sitio Ibuan, Brgy. Mampi, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur where their association of the Manobo Weavers “IBUKA” or Ibuan Buhing Kultura Association was created.

This training was facilitated by the Provincial Tourism Office of Surigao del Sur as part of the Provincial Government’s efforts headed by Governor Alexander T. Pimentel in providing sustainable livelihood programs/projects to the identified PRLEC communities in line with the implementation of EO 70- "Whole of Nation Approach" under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster ( PRLEC ). Although it was created on 2019, the implementation of the Provincial Tourism Office started on 2020 and one of the intervention of the office is through this training. It’s priority is to preserve the dying culture of the Manobo and to uplift the source of livelihood in their respective community.

Ms. Mary Vil C. Chan
